Birch Leafs are quick to recover their net presence by acquiring Backstrom. It did come at the sacrifice of some decent long-term pieces. Granlund and Elliott are just on the cusp of really starting up their NHL careers. But alas, its never as smooth as one hopes and there could be some waiting for these prospects. None the less, a fair risk for both sides.

*$3,000,000 in 2012-13

Quite a signifcant trade here. Mere days after acquiring Neuvirth, Peanuts packages him along with Harding and the Great Hall for some serious pieces in Price and E. Kane. Kane and Hall might be some of the best young LWers to own, while both very different in terms of what they bring, both are excellent. These two guys almost hinder the fact that Price is also in this deal. MTL is probably having one of their worst season, especially after how well they did last year but Price's future still is very bright. Peanuts definitely cleaned up here, acquiring one of the best goalies and a very very respectable LWer to replace Hall. If Neuvirth can grasp that #1 spot next season, then things may even out much much more.

As the trade deadline inches closer, we are seeing some interesting trades. Thomas returns to Peanuts but this time hes also bringing his buddy Neuvirth. Going back is Anderson, a few good prospects and a top round re-entry pick. All in all, a very interesting trade. We will see if this develops into something else.

A real mans trade here. Top RWer for a top LWer. You really can't go wrong here. Feeling strong enough with his current LWers, Duffy acquires arguably the best RW. And I am sure VANCOUVER Nuckleheads is more than happy to get D.Sedin

Big man Myers breaks the bank

LA Birch Leafs Gives:
Future Considerations

Uncomfortable Walruses Gives:
Kris Russell
Luke Adam
1st Round Re-Entry

*Future considerations: Birch Leafs give $4,000,000 in 2012-13 cap space if Myers is still on Walruses' roster at the start of the season.

The envitable happened here, Birch Leafs moved Myers for a few really good pieces. Adam has had a decent start in his NHL career but as of now, there just isn't much space for him on a deep and horrible Buffalo team. The 1st rounder also should be a solid asset whether he uses it or not.

Walruses takes on the massive salary and man that is Myers. Hes got the cap space and should really be a solid d-man for many season. Myers is a rare package in terms of his size and mobility. It will be up to Buffalo on how he is used... one might hope he has the same trajectory as Chara (minus the shot and PIMs).

The Peanut Gallery Gives:
Jamie McBain

Small trade of a few young d-men. Throw in a 2nd around amateur and its good to go. McBain hasn't really lived up to his earlier success and is still trying to find that consistency but hes young and will hopefully learn of his past. Potter really jumped out on the radar early this season and has now somewhat hit a wall. Still, like McBain, he is young and will surely work out his kinks. Given how much talent EDM has upfront and how often Whitney gets injured, Potter should have more opportunities later on.

Future considerations

Another fed up Crosby owner? I know the feeling!

HUGE monster trade here but its likely we won't really see the impact until next season. Peanuts is in the thick of a playoff race so this might hurt his chances but hopefully he can shore up some of his stud the JV team. Crosby is hands down the best fantasy player in the league when hes healthy. Landeskog is a guy that is just gonna get better with more experience and sure Colorado cannot suck that long with all that talent.

Walruses, well he gets a crapload of assets here. Thornton's a solid vet who can be counted on for pts. Skinner, Ryan and Couturier potentially can be all solid cornerstones for many years. If Crosby continues to have problems with his healthy, this trade could be a potential steal.
